  • Technical Director
    Beijing, China

    MAD Architects’ Beijing headquarter office is seeking a highly experienced Technical Director to oversee technical solutions production and quality control throughout the entire design process, from concept to constructed reality. In this role, you will be responsible for transcoding MAD design language to the next world-level completed project.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    1. Lead technical management in all project stages as Lead Architect/Technical Director/Technical Consultant.
    2. Ensure quality control and production of technical solutions from concept to construction.
    3. Oversee the integration of ambitious architectural concepts with sound technical solutions.
    4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal project team and external parties.
    5. Work with external parties to ensure that construction is carried out in accordance with the design intent.

    Key Qualifications:

    3. Demonstrated success on at least two completed large-scale cultural, transportation, or other complex civic projects through all stages of design to construction.
    4. Strong aesthetic design sensitivity with thorough technical knowledge and construction experience.
    5. Advanced knowledge of architectural practice, including building materials, detailing, construction techniques, and building systems selection.
    6. Excellent team player, clear and precise communicator to both internal and external stakeholders.

    MAD Architects’ Beijing headquarter office is looking for talented and experienced designers who have participated in completed or under construction large-scale projects.

     

    This role will work closely with principal partners and project team on our on-going projects with the following responsibilities:

    MAD Architects’ Beijing headquarter office is looking for Architect with facade and scripting background who have participated in completed or under construction large-scale projects.

     

    This role will work closely with principal partners and project team on our on-going projects, with the following responsibilities:

     

    1. Ensure that facade design is integrated with the overall building design.
    2. Collaborate with the design team and consultants to develop high-performance building envelope solutions, provide technical guidance and support.

  • Intermediate Architect / Intermediate Designer
    Los Angeles, US

    We are seeking Intermediate Architects / Intermediate Designers with 5 to 8 years of experience working in a major international architecture firm. West coast experience, particularly on completed residential, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, and/or large-scale cultural projects, is highly preferred. The position will be based in MAD’s Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate should be extremely professional, possess strong design and communication skills, and be able to independently solve problems while receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex issues. The position may require supervision over a small staff of designers.

     

    Requirements:

    1. Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
    2. Have 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible project experience working for a major international architecture firm.
    3. Have expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxwell, and Adobe Creative Suite.
    4. Have experience on completed residential, corporate office &/ large-scale cultural projects, from SD to completion.
    5. Have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand MAD’s design intent and transcribe sketches/ideas/concepts to 3D models and 2D drawings.
    6. Have extensive experience in SD, DD, and CD drawings and procedures, particularly on working details and the planning/design/coordination of large, complex projects.
    7. Be legally authorized to work in the US.

     

    Responsibilities:

    1. Produce drawings and models to support the Project Manager and design team. Supervise and coach Junior Designers to ensure the overall design quality, scheduling, and execution standards are met.
    2. Independently solve and communicate working drawing details throughout the design phases, with a focus on preserving MAD’s design intent throughout the DD and CD phases.
    3. Work closely with Executive Architects, Consultants, and the design team to resolve problems on complex projects, while receiving guidance from Senior Associates and Partners.
