  • Designer/Architect
    Los Angeles, US

    We are seeking Designers/ Architects with 2 to 5 years of experience working in a major international architecture firm. West coast experience, particularly on completed residential, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, and/or large-scale cultural projects, is highly preferred. The position will be based in MAD’s Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate should be extremely professional, possess strong design and communication skills.

     

    1. As an integral part of our international practice, you will be contributing actively to the development of MAD.
    2. Within dedicated teams, you will develop project packages that demonstrate clarity, design sensitivity, and a sound understanding of technical feasibility.
    3. This position has to be very strong in Concept, high design form, with extremely efficient 3D modeling skill set.
    4. You will be involved in the design, architectural, and some technical aspects of projects and their graphic representation through the entire architectural design process.
    5. You are a globally-minded individual with an excellent academic background (Bachelor in Architecture or equivalent from an internationally recognized architecture school) and an outgoing, proactive and positive attitude.

  • Intermediate Architect / Intermediate Designer
    Los Angeles, US

    We are seeking Intermediate Architects / Intermediate Designers with 5 to 8 years of experience working in a major international architecture firm. West coast experience, particularly on completed residential, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, and/or large-scale cultural projects, is highly preferred. The position will be based in MAD’s Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate should be extremely professional, possess strong design and communication skills, and be able to independently solve problems while receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex issues. The position may require supervision over a small staff of designers.

     

    Requirements:

    1. Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
    2. Have 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible project experience working for a major international architecture firm.
    3. Have expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxwell, and Adobe Creative Suite.
    4. Have experience on completed residential, corporate office &/ large-scale cultural projects, from SD to completion.
    5. Have strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand MAD’s design intent and transcribe sketches/ideas/concepts to 3D models and 2D drawings.
    6. Have extensive experience in SD, DD, and CD drawings and procedures, particularly on working details and the planning/design/coordination of large, complex projects.
    7. Be legally authorized to work in the US.

     

    Responsibilities:

    1. Produce drawings and models to support the Project Manager and design team. Supervise and coach Junior Designers to ensure the overall design quality, scheduling, and execution standards are met.
    2. Independently solve and communicate working drawing details throughout the design phases, with a focus on preserving MAD’s design intent throughout the DD and CD phases.
    3. Work closely with Executive Architects, Consultants, and the design team to resolve problems on complex projects, while receiving guidance from Senior Associates and Partners.
    4. Balance a fast-paced work environment and execute obstacles and tight deadlines with a positive attitude. The candidate should be highly reliable, outgoing, a strong communicator, and able to manage multiple projects as required.

    You will be involved in the design, architectural, and technical aspects of projects and their graphic representation through the entire architectural design process from concept to construction.

    You are a globally-minded individual with an excellent academic background (Bachelor in Landscape Architecture / Landscape design or a related field of study from an internationally recognized school) and an outgoing, proactive and positive attitude.

    You have a track record of at least 2 years in-depth post-qualification involvement in leading international architecture or landscape design firms, as a key contributor to the landscape design of complex large-scale mixed-use, cultural, civic or sports projects through all stages of design to construction.

    You articulate your ideas and tasks concepts precisely, comprehensibly, and in a graphically engaging way.

    You demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of plants and planting design, including landform design, hardscape, and water features, as well as relevant practice and industry standards and codes.

    You have sound knowledge of architectural and landscape drawing and detailing, and are proficient in the preparation of surveying landscape work, the assessment of environmental impact based on proposed design.

    Requirements:

              * bachelor’s degree, or higher, in architecture
              * a minimum of ten years working in a leading, international architecture firm, including
                 demonstrated success as a senior project manager/architect on a range of architectural
                 project types
              * experience working on large-scale civic/cultural projects, and have been involved in a
                 minimum of three under construction/completed projects – from schematic design
                 to construction design (please be specific about your role on these projects in your
                 portfolio)
